Catch Report Week 3

Week 3 Fly Fishing Report – Ladybower Fisheries
Cold nights made for slow starts this week, with trout staying deep until after lunch. But once the afternoon sun hit, the action was spectacular! Many anglers—whether on the bank, in a float tube, or by boat—reported catches of 20+ fish, with some impressive specimens showing up.
Best methods: Fast sinking lines (Di7/Di5) in the morning, switching to a fast glass later in the day. Bright colours continue to outperform black significantly.
Hotspots:
The Basin is fishing well, especially around The Old Road, Surgeon’s House, and near the boat jetties. Raspberry Bay is producing big bags, and the Derwent Arm is starting to fire up, with Pickles Meadow and Grainfoot also delivering great results.
Top flies this week:
• Tequila Booby
• Cat’s Whisker
• Orange Dog Nobbler
• Blue Flash Damsel.
With warmer weather ahead, it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing some topwater action!
Catch Stats:
Anglers: 74
• Average per angler: 6.7
